Version 1.0 · Effective [DATE] · Applies to Daybook web and phone apps
Draft for legal review before launch. Items in square brackets need a decision.
1. Who we are
Daybook is cloud accounting, FBR digital invoicing and ERP software for businesses in Pakistan, run by Daybook (Private) Limited. When you use Daybook, you control your business records. We look after them for you.
2. What we collect
If you ask for access on our public page: the name, business name, mobile number, email, city, NTN, modules and message you type into the form. We use them only to contact you about your request.
About you: name, email, mobile number, sign-in history and the device and browser you use.
About your business: NTN, STRN, address, customers, suppliers, items, invoices, bank statements, payroll and other records you or your accountant add or import.
3. Why we use it
To run the service you signed up for: keep your books, send invoices to FBR, prepare tax workings, sign you in safely and send alerts you asked for. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your business records to advertise to you or anyone else.
4. Services you connect
FBR digital invoicing: when you submit an invoice, Daybook sends its details to FBR through PRAL, using the token you gave us. FBR then holds that invoice under its own rules.
LAAM, Shopify, Daraz, couriers and banks: only when you connect them, and only the data needed for that connection. You can disconnect at any time from Settings.
5. How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest and stored in Mumbai, India (ap-south-1). FBR tokens and app keys are stored encrypted, are never shown again in full and are never sent to your browser. Every change is recorded in the audit trail with who made it and when.
6. Who can see it
People you invite, with the access level you give them. Your Daybook accountant, if you have one. A small number of Daybook support staff, only when you ask for help or to keep the service running, and every such access is logged.
7. How long we keep it
While your account is open, and after that for as long as tax law requires you to keep records, which is generally six years. You can export everything to Excel at any time, including after your subscription ends.
8. Your choices and contact
You can correct your details, download your data or ask us to close your account. Write to [PRIVACY EMAIL] or use Help in the app. We reply within [NUMBER] working days.
